Explosion-proof sockets RGMK and plugs VGMK are intended for electrical connection in hazardous areas and can be applied for power and signal (Ethernet up to 100 Mbps, USB etc.) electrical circuits.
There are various versions of sockets and plugs available:
- socket outlet (RGMK),
- plug (VGMK),
- built-in socket outlet (RGMKV),
- built-in plug (VGMKV).
The body of explosion-proof sockets is made from stainless steel, which is resistant to aggressive atmosphere, alkali, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid drops. The socket structure was developed on the base of contact module for 9 poles. The wires are connected to the contacts by soldering. Sockets are supplied with a protective cap. Built-in sockets are supplied with connected cable.
VGMKV-Ethernet are used for the connection to Ethernet or Fast Ethernet fieldbus in hazardous areas. By applying VGMKV-Ethernet sockets, there is no need to use IS barriers, which makes it possible to achieve full throughput of Ethernet network.
RGMKV-USB/VGMKV-USB explosion-proof sockets are used for the connection of the devices to USB interface.
Explosion-proof socket outlets are particularly efficient in portable devices, which need to be installed quickly and for a short period of time, or which often require replacement or maintenance:
- for switching of network interfaces (USB, Ethernet),
- for power supply to portable local control systems,
- to connect and supply power to I&C devices (e.g. sensors, starters, measuring instruments, distributors and receivers of measuring instruments),
- heating systems, heat tracing of pipes,
- connection and disconnection of the devices inside complex systems;
- flexible installations in tankers, tankers machinery and connecting apparatuses of the machinery,
- direct connection of small devices without wiring,
- for power supply to light fixtures,
- for power supply to electrical equipment, movable machines, drives and portable devices (trolleys and pumps).
Male contacts are fastened in the explosion-proof body that provides explosion protection during connection and disconnection of sockets.
Built-in sockets RGMKV and plugs VGMKV can be installed in Ex d and Ex e enclosures.
Explosion-proof plug-and-socket connections can be applied for non-IS and IS electrical circuits. It is prohibited to insert both IS and non-IS electrical circuits in the same plug-and-socket connection.
