SHORV...-O explosion-proof boxes with window are stationary devices and can be used for arrangement of analogue and digital apparatuses for visual control, instruments, displays, monitors, signs, indicators, light signaling devices, as well as terminals, control, signaling elements and other electrotechnical components in case of their mounting in hazardous areas. Shape of explosion-proof SHORV enclosures ensure easy access for installation of equipment inside boxes. SHORV...-O enclosures with window have external flange.
SHORV...-O explosion-proof boxes with window (flameproof joints) are the fourth generation of Exd enclosures with over 25 years of flameproof joint service life.
Cover and walls of explosion-proof SHORV…O enclosures with window are made with high strength characteristics. Windows of explosion-proof SHORV…O enclosures are made from impact-resistant and heat-resistant glass. Borosilicate glass of explosion-proof SHORV…O enclosures has sodium and calcium in its composition, which makes it more resistant to aggressive atmospheres and heat shock due to low coefficient of expansion.
The methods to signigicantly increase the strength of products include: air and water hardening, etching, ion-exchange strengthening in molted salts, application of metal-oxide coatings. "ZAVOD GORELTEX" Co. Ltd. uses a combined way of increasing the strength of thermal resistant borosylicate glass which is the most efficient one. Special technology of "ZAVOD GORELTEX" Co. Ltd. of increasing the strength of borosylicate glass to impacts enables to increase the strength limit of the thermal resistant borosylicate glass after special treatment at 7-10 times.
SHORV...-O explosion-proof enclosures with window are highly resistant to the impact of hydrogen sulfide fumes which is proved in a written form in GOST R certificates. Outstanding functional capabilities of SHORV...-O explosion-proof enclosures are complemented by excellent industrial design.
Scope of application – outdoor and indoor hazardous areas as per explosion protection marking, GOST 30852.13-2002 (IEC 60079-14:1996), areas with presence of combustible dust, as per GOST IEC 61241-3-2011, dangerous production facilities of I, II, III, IV hazard class supervised by Rostechnadzor of the RF and national technical supervision bodies of the Customs Union and CIS countries.

Requirements to fasteners of flameproof joint as per GOST IEC 60079-1 –2013:
§ 11.1 Fasteners accessible inside and outside and required for assembly of parts of the flameproof joint shall:
- be special fasteners (countersunk or used in blind holes or the protection of which is provided by the equipment design) and meet the requirements of GOST 31610.0 (for the equipment of group I);
- be special fasteners and meet the requirements of GOST 31610.0 (for the equipment of group II).
Note – Application of countersunk fasteners or in blind holes for the equipment of group I is required for the protection of fasteners heads from against impact. Cylindrical heads of screws with hexagonal socket for the equipment of group II shall be countersunk or be used in blind holes or their protection shall be provided by the equipment design.
IIGb / IIIDb EXPLOSION-PROOF FRAMES FOR MODULAR VERSION
When designing cabinets there are situations where dimensions of enclosures are not sufficient to arrange the equipment. In this case the cabinet may be divided into separate modules connected either by metal hoses or by pipe conduit.
Application of relatively small modules enables to reduce the dimensions, mass and cost of the cabinet. Moreover, large surface areas enable to arrange cable glands in accessible places which significantly simplifies the mounting.
Modular cabinets are installed on the frame /RAMA made from galvanized steel (cold or hot-dip galvanizing) or stainless steel upon request.
Frames are manufactured for wall or floor mounting and are frictionally intrinsically safe non-electrical equipment with IIGb and IIIDb level of explosion protection.
Large enclosures starting from SHORV654526 size are equipped with sets of fasteners. Centering of the cover when closing is carried out automatically - holes for bolts in the cover match the corresponding threaded holes in the enclosure. The risk of damage to threaded connections is excluded.
For enclosures in vertical position, one fastener is used which is installed on side of the enclosure from the handle side (from the opposite door axis). For enclosures in horizontal position, two fasteners are installed along the short side.
MECHANICAL PROCESSING OF SHORV...-O BOXES
Wall and cover thickness of SHORV...-O explosion-proof enclosures is sufficient to manufacture threaded holes for connection of various types of explosion-proof cable glands, control and indicating elements. There is a wide range of control, indicating and signaling elements of standard version, elements and modules for specific tasks, as well as elements of typical version upon customer’s request. Big size of control elements of M series enables to work in gloves, indicating elements have large diameter – 40 mm and are equipped with a reflector which makes the signal clearly visible at large viewing angle and various degrees of surface dirtiness. Operating handles for circuit breakers are selected depending on number of poles and circuit breaker type. Handle’s axle length can be adapted to the type of circuit breaker and size and type of the explosion-proof enclosure.
